What is Viewability and Why Does It Matter?

Viewability measures whether an ad impression was actually seen by a user. According to IAB standards, at least 50% of a display ad's pixels must be in view for at least 1 second, and for video ads, at least 50% of pixels must be in view for at least 2 seconds.

How is vCPM Calculated?

vCPM (viewable CPM) is calculated by dividing your actual CPM by the viewability rate. Formula: vCPM = CPM ÷ (Viewability Rate / 100). A low viewability rate means your true advertising cost is much higher than you think.

Why is Viewability Optimization Critical?

In programmatic advertising, a significant portion of your budget can be spent on impressions that are never seen. Improving viewability rate reduces your effective CPM and directly improves campaign efficiency. The IAB-recommended minimum viewability rate is 70%.
